Burks Pumps

Crane Pumps & Systems began in 1946 as “The Piqua Machine and Manufacturing Company”. The original products were 56 Frame Fractional HP A.C. electric motors, used primarily in Oil Burning Furnaces. The three founders, Roy Speigle, President, Odus Treon, Vice-President and Beatrice Avey, Secretary / Treasurer came from Lear Avia, Inc., a Bill Lear Company.

From their experience making motors that could withstand wet conditions for aircraft, the founders were able to develop a pump which would no longer require a long shaft, meaning the motor could actually be submerged. In 1948 the original Submersible 1/3 Horsepower, 1 1/4 Discharge Sump Pump was developed and put on the market.

Burks condensate units are designed for automatic return of hot water condensation from radiators, coils, etc. to low and high pressure boilers, or for return of water and other liquids to the overhead tanks of industrial gravity circulating systems. Four cast iron receiver units available from 9 to 36 gallons. All units are shipped complete, ready for fast, easy installation.

Heads To: 130 feet

Flows To: 80 g.p.m.

Equivalent for maximum boilers of 360 H.P., 75 g.p.m. of condensate in flow.

Burks versatile end-suction pumps are heavy duty, general purpose centrifugal pumps with heavy wall castings suitable for many commercial, industrial and municipal needs. Applications include condenser, chilled, and hot water systems in HVAC, process secondary pumping, and municipal drinking water. High efficiencies, robust case construction of cast iron, and impeller construction of bronze makes these pumps an ideal selection for applications that require easy-to-maintain, reliable, long lasting pumps.

Heads To: 380 feet

Flows To: 1,100 g.p.m.

Burks Turbine unique design is engineered for high pressure, low flow applications. Ideal for small boiler applications. The raceway conducts fluid into the impeller and then provides a channel for the liquid to move as it is propelled and energized by the impeller.

Heads To: 350 feet

Flows To: 91 g.p.m.

For lower volume applications requiring flows up to 80 GPM the Burks GB Series offers a flexible, cost savings solution. Burks GB pumps can be installed in any position; horizontal, vertical or on an angle. Leak proof, self-adjusting mechanical seals and all iron or all bronze construction provide reliable, quality construction. Inline design allows removal

of pumping assembly without disturbing piping for easy maintenance. Standard pump motors have open drip proof construction, are rated with jet pump service factors for continuous duty operation, and come with NEMA standard mounting flange.

Heads To: 110 feet

Flows To: 80 g.p.m.

A full line of Pilot Duty or In-line level controls may be specified to meet pump installation requirements. Junction boxes are available in Simplex and Duplex models with NEMA 4X ratings. UL listed for select models.
